Other Bennett Valley Grapes Sources

Bennett Valley is home to many small, independent growers with a passion for quality and a commitment to the production of ultra premium wines. As some of our grapes are under contract to other wineries, we have been fortunate to be able to source fruit from some of our friends and neighbors. Sylvan Hills Vineyard (shown above) has proven to be a wonderful source of Chardonnay for us. The vineyard was planted to the much sought after Wente clone nearly 30 years ago. Fruit from our low yielding block has small berries and small cluster size which is generally acknowledged to increase concentration and intensity in wine.

Jemrose Vineyard

Bennett Mountain Vineyard is a state of the art, high density Chardonnay planting set on a property with a rich winegrowing and winemaking history. The original Belle Mount Winery, established in 1864 by one of the valley's earliest winegrowers, was situated just above the vineyard which we believe contributes exuberant fruit elements, particularly pear and citrus, to our wine.

In 2006 and 2007 we were lucky to source a small amount of Merlot from the Jemrose Vineyard. The Merlot block is planted on a steep slope with an excellent southern exposure. The combination of extreme site and meticulous farming have produced highly concentrated, intense fruit which we believe to be a perfect compliment to our own.
