Fred Swanson of NorCalWine.com reviews the 2010 Kismet www.norcalwine.com/

Frostwatch Kismet, a proprietary blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon:

Kismet

09' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Kismet - Even though very young and still a bit tight at the edges, this carefully crafted Sauvignon hits all the varietal marks smartly from its moderately deep, green-melon character to its lightly-laid-on grassiness to its bright, cleansing finish. Firm in balance and showing fine fruity volume, it has the sense of a wine that can get better with age. It will work in the short term with any number of herb-accented seafoods, but it would be a good idea to set a few bottles aside. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (91 pts) Vol 34 Issue 10: August 2010

09' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Kismet - "Vivid passion fruit, nectarine, fig and Meyer lemon flavors are bright and refreshing with a wonderful freshness, rich texture and floral details that come on strong on the finish." The Wine Spectator Insider (90 pts) 5/12/10.

Gold Medal - 2010 Orange County Fair

Frostwatch Chardonnay, Bennett Valley:

08' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Chardonnay - "This is a wonderful wine despite wanting a bit more depth and expansion on the palate because it is clean as a whistle, wholly and impeccably balanced, nicely combines the potential for ripe fruit that makes California wines special and yet does not come close to going over the top at any point. It will drink well now, and there is no reason to age it for long-except this. It has the balance and focus to get better over time and find the rounded exterior and firm center of fine wine." "One Puff" Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines - March 2011.

07' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Chardonnay - "One of the Best Chardonnay Values under $30. Offers a mix of pure, ripe honeysuckle, melon, pear and creamy vanilla-scented oak. Full-bodied, balanced, focused and persistent, ending with a long, clean, complex finish. Drink now. The Wine Spectator (89pts). J.L. 1/19/2010

 Chardonnay

07' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Chardonnay - "This is the richest Frostwatch Chardonnay ever. It just explodes in the mouth, with waves of ripe pineapple, peach, pear, lemon custard and spice flavors. The oak influence offers richer elements of crème brulee. Drink now for sheer opulence." The Wine Enthusiast (91pts)

Gold Medal - 2009 Sonoma County Harvest Fair

Best of Class, Gold Medal - 2010 North of the Gate Wine Competition

Frostwatch Merlot, Bennett Valley:

Merlot

07' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Merlot - Careful crafting and balance are the watchwords of this very successful Merlot, and, while the wine wants for nothing at all in concentration or ripeness, it carries itself with a nice bit of finesse. It is built along claret-like lines and exhibits plenty of polish and a fine streak of long-lasting, black-cherry fruit, and, although a wine that will certainly improve for the next three to five years, it is absolutely delicious right now." "Two Puffs" Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines - April 2011.

06' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Merlot - "Its mix of red cherries, root beer richness and hints of woodsy and slightly herbal seasonings give this limited edition wine a good start, and its full, somewhat fleshy, open, supple nature provide an entirely likeable progression." "One Puff" Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines - September 2009

05' Frostwatch Bennett Valley Merlot - Precise, well-focused cherry-like fruit takes the lead in both the aromas and the flavors of this supple and nicely filled young Merlot, while carefully placed accents of tea-leaf and sweet oak lend a bit of engaging complexity. Full in feel, but never heavy or burdened by excessive astringency, the wine shows a real sense of polish and crafting that bodes well for keeping while at the same time making it very appealing in the more immediate term. "Two Puffs" Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines - July 2008
